The Prime Minister's Internship Scheme, introduced as part of the Union Budget 2024, aims to create internship opportunities in the top 500 companies over the next five years. Its primary objective is to enhance the employability and industry exposure of India's youth.

During the 2024-25 period, the pilot phase aims to provide 1.25 lakh internships, with partner companies actively listing positions on the official internship portal.

Financial Support for Interns

Interns selected under this scheme will receive:

• ₹5,000 monthly stipend for 12 months

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has announced plans to revise the framework for cost records and audits, incorporating stakeholder feedback and committee recommendations.
