The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently organized a workshop titled 'Parenting for Students' Well-Being' at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, New Delhi. This initiative aimed to equip around 150 principals from CBSE-affiliated schools across Delhi and NCR with the tools and strategies necessary to support the emotional and psychological well-being of students.

The event kicked off with a lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a melodious performance by the school choir, setting a positive tone for the day's proceedings.

Importance of Collaborative Efforts in Student Well-Being

In his opening remarks, Himanshu Gupta, Secretary of CBSE, emphasized the crucial role that schools, parents, and communities play in promoting student well-being. He called for collaborative efforts to foster an environment that nurtures students emotionally and psychologically, ensuring their holistic development.

Rahul Singh, Chairperson of CBSE, also addressed the gathering, discussing the evolving challenges faced by parents in today’s fast-paced world. He highlighted the necessity for schools to take a more active role in guiding families, given the dynamic nature of parenting responsibilities. Drawing from his personal experiences, he emphasized the value of shared generational wisdom in raising well-rounded, happy children.

Interactive Q&A Session

The workshop concluded with a highly engaging Question and Answer session, where principals had the opportunity to raise concerns and share insights from their schools. This interactive session allowed for the exchange of valuable ideas and real-life experiences, providing actionable solutions to challenges faced in supporting student well-being.

The workshop on 'Parenting for Students' Well-being' underscored the critical role of principals and educators in shaping not just academic success, but also the emotional and psychological health of students. CBSE's continued efforts in organizing such workshops reflect its commitment to fostering a balanced, student-centered education system.
