Description

The Madrasah education system in Bengal began its development with the establishment of the Calcutta Madrasah in 1780 by the British East India Company. In 1915, a new framework for Madrasah Education was introduced, spearheaded by Moulana Abu Nasar Mohammad Waheed, I.E.S., a distinguished educationist and administrator who served as the Principal of Dacca Senior Madrasah at that time.

To facilitate the administration and conduct of Madrasah Examinations, several educational boards were established. The East Bengal Secondary Education Board was founded in 1921, followed by the creation of the Board of Islamic Intermediate and Secondary Education Dacca for High Madrasah Education in 1922, and the Central Madrasah Examination Board for Senior Madrasah Education in 1927. These boards played a pivotal role in overseeing and organizing Madrasah examinations until 1947.
