Venkateshwara Open University finds its establishment rooted in the Arunachal Pradesh State Legislative Act, bearing the designation LAW/LEGN-10/2012 Arunachal Pradesh (Act No.10 of 2012). In accordance with the directives from the University Grants Commission (UGC), Venkateshwara Open University, Arunachal Pradesh, has been formally constituted as a private University under the auspices of the State Legislature of Arunachal Pradesh. It holds the authority to confer degrees as stipulated in section 22 of the UGC Act.
