Information

Established : 1921

Country : India

State : Uttar Pradesh

Description

At present, this board proudly holds the distinction of being the largest in Asia in terms of student enrollment. The annual examinations for the 10th and 12th standards are known as the High School Examination and Intermediate Examination, respectively. These examinations are simultaneously conducted throughout the state of Uttar Pradesh. The Board is responsible for organizing and compiling the results for a substantial number of students, nearly 3,200,000.

Established in 1921 in Allahabad through an act of the United Provinces Legislative Council, this Board conducted its inaugural examination in 1923. Notably, it was one of the first boards in India to adopt the 10+2 system of examination right from its inception. The High School Examination follows 10 years of education, while the Intermediate Examination takes place after the 10+2 stage. Prior to 1923, the University of Allahabad oversaw these two examinations.
