Description
Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (S-VYASA) obtained UGC approval and attained the status of a Deemed to be University in 2002. Rooted in the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, S-VYASA is dedicated to the concept of Yoga and its contemporary applications, addressing the challenges of modern society. The institution's Vision and Mission are encapsulated in the guiding principle of "Be and Make."
S-VYASA stands as the pioneer in higher education Yoga institutions, both in India and globally. It provides a comprehensive range of UG and PG courses, including Ph.D. programs, emphasizing the holistic development of individuals. The distinctive feature of S-VYASA lies in its commitment to nurturing the complete personality of students.
Swami Vivekananda's perspective on education as the manifestation of inherent perfection forms the foundation. According to him, "Each Soul is potentially Divine," and the purpose of life is to unveil this Divinity through the control of external and internal nature. S-VYASA aligns with this philosophy, incorporating the expanded definition of Yoga, which comprises four streams: Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, and Karma Yoga, emphasizing unity in diversity. The institution tracks all the five Koshas (annamaya, pranamaya, manomaya, vijnanamaya, and anandamaya) of individuals and the entire creation.
