Description
The State Board School Examinations (Sec.) & Board of Higher Secondary Examinations in Tamil Nadu, commonly referred to as the Tamil Nadu State Board, holds the significant responsibility of administering board examinations for students in Standard X and XII. The mark certificates issued to students in these grades hold immense importance, serving as crucial documents for pursuing higher education and job opportunities.
In addition to these primary responsibilities, the Board is also responsible for conducting examinations and issuing certificates for programs such as Diploma in Elementary Education, Government Technical Examinations, and ESLC (Eight Std – Private Study). Furthermore, the Board plays a pivotal role in organizing Scholarship Examinations like NMMS, TRUSTS, and the National Talent Search Examinations.
To efficiently manage its operations, this Directorate operates through seven Regional offices located in Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Chennai, Cuddalore, and Vellore. These regional offices handle logistics tasks, including the transportation of examination-related stationery items, fund distribution for examination purposes, and the distribution of Mark Certificates.
