Description
Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, declared as a Deemed-to-be-University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, in Tumkur, was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, through notification No. F.9-31/2006-U.3(A) dated 30/05/2008. The constituent colleges, Sri Siddhartha Medical College and Sri Siddhartha Dental College, have been integral parts of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education since June 1, 2008.
Furthermore, in accordance with the Government of India's notification No. F.9-31/2006-U.3(A) dated 16/12/2008, the UGC, exercising powers under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, added Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Maralur, Tumkur, as an off-campus constituent teaching unit of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, Tumkur, effective from March 6, 2009.
