Description
Established in 1996 in Bhubaneswar as the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), this institution initially gained AICTE approval for B.Tech. Initially affiliated to Utkal University, it later became affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) from 2002 to 2007.
In recognition of its significant contributions to technical and professional education, the University Grants Commission (UGC) declared Siksha 'O' Anusandhan as a Deemed-to-be-University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, in 2007. Consequently, in 2007, the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), Bhubaneswar, became a constituent institute of Siksha O Anusandhan University. The university's institutes, schools, and departments are dispersed across campuses covering 127 acres in the city of Bhubaneswar.
In 2022, SOA University attained Category-I Graded Autonomy Status from the University Grants Commission, affirming its commitment to academic excellence and self-governance.
