Description
The National Examinations Board (NEB), known as "राष्ट्रिय परीक्षा बोर्ड" in Nepali, was established in the year 2016 AD (2073 in the Nepali calendar) as an independent institution. Its scope of operations includes responsibilities previously managed by the Higher Secondary Education Council, such as school affiliation, scholarships, and school management, which are now decentralized to the local level. Additionally, the NEB is responsible for curriculum development, educational improvement, and equivalence assessment, previously overseen by the Curriculum Development Center. Furthermore, the NEB has been assigned the task of conducting examinations for Class 10 (SEE) and the examinations for Class 11 and 12 (SLCE).
