Description

The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) was established as a regulatory authority by the Government of India, as per Gazette Notification No. SD-17/113/2017-E&PW, dated December 5, 2018. It commenced its full operational functions on August 1, 2020. NCVET serves as the overarching national regulatory body with the core objective of setting standards, formulating comprehensive regulations, and enhancing the vocational education, training, and skilling ecosystem.

The primary mission of NCVET is to facilitate robust industry collaboration and implement effective regulations that elevate the quality and outcomes of vocational education and training. It is entrusted with the responsibility of developing, improving the quality of, and regulating vocational education and training systems. Additionally, NCVET bestows recognition upon and oversees the operations of awarding bodies, assessment agencies, and skill information providers. It also carries out other relevant functions as specified in its resolution.
