Description
The Mahatma Gandhi Mission (MGM) Trust, the progenitor of MGMIHS, was founded in 1982 by Hon. Shri. Kamalkishor N. Kadam with a visionary outlook. Its mission is to provide high-quality education through innovative and dynamic pedagogical techniques, foster healthcare, prevent and treat diseases, advance biomedical and clinical research, and offer educational programs for the future generation of physicians and scientists. Since its establishment, the Trust has been unwaveringly dedicated to delivering healthcare services, school and higher education, and professional education.
Originally rooted in Nanded, Maharashtra, the MGM Trust expanded its footprint to Aurangabad, Navi Mumbai, Parbhani (Maharashtra), and Noida, Uttar Pradesh. A diverse range of institutions, including schools, medical colleges, nursing colleges, management institutes, engineering colleges, architecture schools, law colleges, computer science and IT institutes, bioinformatics and biotechnology colleges, fine arts institutions, and journalism schools, bear testament to the Trust's four-decade-long commitment to excellence.
The founding members of the Trust are a group of highly dedicated and socially committed professionals, including engineers, doctors, and scientists. Guided by the visionary leadership of Shri. Kamalkishor Kadam, M. Tech. (IIT-Mumbai), the Chairman of the Trust and former Minister of Education, Maharashtra, along with trustees Shri. A. N. Kadam (B.E.), Dr. P. M. Jadhav (FRCS, U.K.), Dr. S. N. Kadam (FRCP, Edin.), Late Shri. P. S. Borade (M.E.), Dr. N. N. Kadam (MD, DCH), and Shri. U. N. Kadam (B.E.), the MGM Trust has achieved excellence across various academic domains.
The MGM Trust draws inspiration from the life and principles of Mahatma Gandhi, striving for excellence in academic fields, including research for the advancement of knowledge. It places a strong emphasis on character building, echoing Mahatma Gandhi's belief that "literary education is of no value if it is not able to build sound character."
