The Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER) stands as a distinguished Deemed to be University, housing a consortium of institutions across Chennai and Kanchipuram. MAHER attained recognition as a Deemed to be University through the approval of the University Grants Commission under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, as per Government Notification No.f.9-5/2002-U.3 on 31.03.2004.

Within the MAHER umbrella, three constituent units thrive in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu - the Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI), Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON), and the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS). Additionally, there is a unit in Maduravoyal, Chennai - Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital (MADCH) - along with Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON) in Mangadu, Chennai, collectively providing outstanding education in the healthcare domain. The main campus of MAHER at K.K.Nagar, Chennai, hosts additional faculties, including Humanities and Science, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Yoga Science and Therapy.
