Established in 1953, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) stands as a distinguished self-financing higher educational institution. It commenced its journey by pioneering the first self-financing medical college through a groundbreaking Public Private collaboration model. The institution's evolution continued with the addition of various educational establishments, ultimately achieving the status of a Deemed to be University declared by the Government of India in June 1993.

Renowned for its exceptional track record in academics, infrastructure, and research contributions, coupled with its notable national and international rankings, MAHE was honored as an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University (IoE) by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in October 2020.

MAHE is synonymous with excellence in higher education, hosting a diverse community of over 35,000 students from 60+ nations. Situated in Karnataka's Udupi district, the sprawling University town provides a conducive environment for students to live, learn, and engage in various activities. In addition to the main campus, MAHE has off-campuses located in Mangaluru, Bengaluru, and Jamshedpur. Furthermore, the institution extends its global reach with an off-shore campus in Dubai (UAE). The Mangaluru campus specializes in Medical and Dental programs, while the Bengaluru campus offers a spectrum of programs in Regenerative Medicine, Engineering, Art & Design, Humanities, Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, Law, and Management.
