Description

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board, abbreviated as KSEAB, is the state education board overseeing educational matters in Karnataka. Established in 1966, KSEAB administers various examinations, including the SSLC (Tenth) Examination conducted annually in March/April, as well as the PUC (Twelfth) Examination and other assessments. KSEAB is responsible for evaluating students in both the 10th and 12th grades across affiliated schools and junior colleges.

This board plays a pivotal role in regulating and supervising the secondary education system within Karnataka. Its functions encompass formulating curriculum, conducting examinations, granting school recognition, and providing guidance and leadership to all secondary educational institutions under its purview. Additionally, it is worth noting that there are other independent educational boards, such as the Karnataka State Open Education Examination Board, operating within the state.

Formerly, the Department of Pre-University Education handled Senior Secondary Education (Class 11th and 12th), also known as PUC in Karnataka. This department is now integrated into KSEAB's responsibilities in the state.
