Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education

Established in 1984 by Kalvivallal Thiru T. Kalasalingam under the trust Kalasalingam and Anandam Ammal Charities, Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE), formerly Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering, has evolved into a Deemed-to-be University. Thiru T. Kalasalingam, the Founder Chairman, was a freedom fighter and philanthropist. Nestled at the pristine foothills of the scenic Western Ghats in southern Tamilnadu, the institution obtained Deemed-to-be University status in 2006. Over its thirty-seven-year history, the college has dedicatedly served society, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds.

KARE offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs across various disciplines of Engineering, Science, Technology, and Humanities. Pioneering inclusivity, it introduced the first-ever B.Tech program in engineering for differently-abled (speech and hearing impaired) students in India. The institution's commitment to quality education is underscored by its 'A' grade accreditation from NAAC with a CGPA of 3.11, and six undergraduate programs accredited by NBA under Tier-1.

KARE continues to excel in research, securing projects and establishing research centers. Notably, it has received DST funding to establish the National Center for Advanced Research in Discrete Mathematics. The institution boasts a state-of-the-art IRC equipped with high-end instruments for advanced research in material sciences and life sciences.

Providing accommodation to a diverse student body, KARE features multistoried separate hostels with numerous facilities. The institution has invested significantly in creating world-class amenities, including a swimming pool and an indoor auditorium for sports. Emphasizing holistic development, KARE places utmost importance on both intra-mural and extra-mural activities for its students.
