Description
The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), commonly known as the International Baccalaureate (IB), is a non-profit foundation established in 1968 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. This organization provides four distinct educational programs, namely the IB Diploma Program and the IB Career-related Program for students aged 15 to 19, the IB Middle Years Program for students aged 11 to 16, and the IB Primary Years Program for children aged three to 12. In order to offer these programs, schools must receive authorization from the International Baccalaureate.
In 2007, the organization underwent structural changes that led to a modification in its name and logo. Consequently, the term "IB" can now denote the organization itself, any of the four educational programs it offers, or the diplomas and certificates awarded upon completion of a program.
