Dr. C.V. Raman University, Bihar (CVRU), is a privately owned educational institution situated in Bhagwanpur, Vaishali district, Bihar, India. Established in the year 2018, this university came into being through the efforts of the All India Society for Electronics & Computer Technology (AISECT), in accordance with the Bihar Private Universities Act of 2013. It stands as the fourth among the six private universities initially planned for Bihar, following the footsteps of K. K. University and Sandip University, Sijoul, and subsequently, Amity University, Patna.
The approval for the establishment of this university was granted by the Bihar Cabinet on January 10, 2018, with official notification appearing in the gazette on February 7, 2018. Dr. C.V. Raman University, Bihar, commenced its academic activities in the session starting in July 2018. This institution offers a wide range of diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs across five faculties. Notably, it bears the name of the nation's first Nobel Laureate, C.V. Raman.
