Guided by a well-defined, clearly articulated Vision, Mission, and Goals, this University, established on September 1, 2005, under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, focuses on Health and Allied Sciences. Offering contemporary and innovative programs through its Medical College, College of Nursing, School of Hospitality, College of Physiotherapy, and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research, the institution is committed to skill-based, employability-driven education.

The diverse range of programs includes DMLT, OT Technician Training Certificate, Dialysis Technician Certificate, alongside traditional offerings such as MBBS, MD/MS, Medical Fellowships, B.Sc. in Hospitality, B.Sc, PB. B.Sc., and M.Sc. Nursing. The University also provides M.Sc. programs in Medical Physics, B.PTh, Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, Medical Biotechnology, and Doctoral programs in Interdisciplinary and Medical subjects.

The University earned re-accreditation with an 'A' grade in 2017, valid for five years, and was ranked among the top 100 Universities in India in 2018 by NIRF.

With ISO:9001-2015 certification, the University's 800-bedded multispecialty Hospital serves as an academic, clinical training, and research platform. Free rural medical camps and subsidized treatment initiatives ensure that primary to tertiary services are accessible to the most economically disadvantaged individuals.
