Description
Established in 1969 as 'Christ College,' CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has been a pioneer in Indian higher education. It has spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives, introducing innovative curricula and modern educational practices, emphasizing academic discipline, holistic education, and integrating global higher education standards, all thanks to a committed and creative staff.
Recognizing its commitment to excellence, the University Grants Commission (UGC) conferred autonomy to Christ College in 2004 and identified it as an Institution with Potential for Excellence in 2006. Subsequently, in 2008, under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India declared the institution a Deemed to be University, adopting the name Christ University.
Christ University has been a trailblazer in accreditation, being one of the first institutions in India accredited in 1998 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Government of India. It has maintained its commitment to quality, achieving 'A+' Grade accreditation in 2004, 2016, and 2022. As of the NIRF India Ranking 2023 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) holds a prestigious position among the top 100 universities in India, ranking 67.
