What is the Certificate Course in Journalism & Mass Communication?
This program acknowledges the increasing significance of Journalism, Public Relations, and Media Management in contemporary society. The course not only offers insights into the role of media and communications in Uganda and globally but also delves into the examination of modern media structures with a historical context.
Additionally, the course is designed to instill effective management skills in students for handling media, marketing, and corporate communications. These skills are vital for fostering mutual understanding between organizations and their stakeholders. Grounded in communications and customer behavior theory, the course adopts a strategic approach to communication management, building upon an understanding of the promotional mix.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Candidates who have passed 10+2 (from any stream or subjects) or equivalent are eligible to apply for this certificate course in Mass Communication & Digital Media Productions from COL-DU. Those appearing or who have appeared in qualifying exams (i.e., 10+2) may also apply.
Students currently enrolled in degree or diploma courses from any colleges, institutes, departments, or other universities may also apply. Recent graduates from various degree courses may be considered for admission. Applicants may undergo screening for these Certificate Courses in DU after the 12th, available through both offline and online classes.
Class Mode: Classes will be conducted through both offline and online modes. 2-3 classes per week, each lasting approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, will be scheduled every week. Weekend class schedules or after-regular college hours may also be provided for the convenience of students already pursuing degree courses, subject to batch availability.
