Description

"The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national-level educational board in India overseeing both public and private schools, under the governance and administration of the Government of India. Established in 1929 through a government resolution, the Board served as an experimental initiative to foster inter-state collaboration and unity in the domain of secondary education. Currently, there are over 27,000 schools in India and 240 schools in 28 foreign countries affiliated with CBSE. All CBSE-affiliated schools, particularly those catering to classes 9 through 12, adhere to the NCERT curriculum. Nidhi Chhibber, IAS, serves as the current Chairperson of CBSE.

In 1952, the Board's constitution was amended to its present title, the Central Board of Secondary Education. Subsequently, on July 1, 1962, the Board underwent reconstitution, extending its services to students and educational institutions across the entire nation."
