In the sixteenth year of the Republic of India, the Madhya Pradesh Legislature passed an act to create a board with the aim of overseeing Secondary Education in Madhya Pradesh and addressing related concerns. This autonomous body was officially formed in 1965 through the enactment of The Madhya Pradesh Secondary Education Act, 1965.
