Banasthai Vidyapith

Banasthali Vidyapith stands as a fully residential higher education institution exclusively for women, offering an integrated educational system spanning from primary to Ph.D. levels.

Founded on October 6, 1935, by Smt. Ratan Shastri and Pandit Hiralal Shastri, Banasthali was established to address the void left by the untimely passing of their talented daughter, Shantabai. Although their aspirations for Shantabai to contribute to women's causes were thwarted by destiny, Banasthali emerged as a testament to her memory. Unlike institutions born from the fervor of educators, social reformers, or philanthropists, Banasthali's origin is likened to the mythical phoenix rising from the ashes of the budding flower Shantabai.

As one of the five higher education institutes in India exclusively for women, Banasthali has evolved into a national center for women's education over its seventy-five-year history. The institution's educational program is designed to foster the all-round development of students' personalities. In pursuit of the objective to synthesize spiritual values with the scientific achievements of the East and the West, Banasthali has crafted a Five-fold Educational Programme (Panchmukhi Shiksha). This program encompasses physical, practical, aesthetic, moral, and intellectual aspects, allowing students to cultivate an integrated and balanced personality.
